Stoney Creek — A Growing Northeast London Community Centred on Recreation

A large northeast London neighbourhood that boomed after 2000, anchored by the Stoney Creek Community Centre, YMCA, and full-service library branch.

Stoney Creek is a large suburban neighbourhood in London's north end, roughly bounded by Adelaide Street to Highbury Avenue, between Medway Road and Fanshawe Park Road. Development began in the 1970s, with the southern part of the neighbourhood built out first — a mix of 1970s and 80s single-family homes, townhouses, and apartment buildings. The area saw its most significant construction boom after the year 2000, and the newer northern section is made up mostly of single-family subdivisions with some newer townhouse complexes. Community life centres on the Stoney Creek Community Centre, which combines a YMCA and a full-service library branch with an indoor pool, gymnasium, and fitness centre.
